Dr. J. Laurent studied medicine in Bordeaux (France) in the
1960s. He was a general practitioner, since specialization
seemed to him as an amputation of his passion to heal.
He was first located in Alsace [close to the German border]
where he was confronted with the pathologies related to a
Germanic influence lifestyle. Next, he lived in the Indian
Ocean, where he was in contact with multi-ethnic populations
who have very different ways to react when faced with illness,
based on their different lifestyle and eating habits.

For
several years, he was in China for training in traditional
Chinese Medicine and acupuncture, organized by the
World Health Organization for Western physicians.
While there, he discovered the commonl reasoning
that characterizes the traditional medicines and
philosophies of the Far East.
He finally returned to Bordeaux, where for 15
years, he observed the reactions of the French toward
diseases.
Since 1997, he has been practicing on a small
French island in the West Indies, in contact with
a more North American lifestyle. |

Based on neuromuscular excitability tests he saw the possibility
of differentiating his subjects in four different profiles,
in biological, metabolic, and neurological terms. The four
kinds of graphs resulting from these tests were the point
of departure for this hypothesis on the four human profiles,
based on alimentation andbehevior.
Based on his knowledge of Man, he developed his own philosophy
- that the differences that exist between people do not come
from the color of their skin or their culture or their social
levels but rather from deep within them in their different
blood types.
